I turned 40 today and it’s been unexpectedly, well, great! I base that not on some million $ lotto ticket or big deal closure; things are simply conspiring in a foreseeably good way.

Reflecting a bit on where I am and where I am going, I feel good. Here’s why:

I embrace change; 20 years ago I resited it.
I am more patient; I can finally write a rant email, delete it and send something more rational, constructive, and honest.
I am not afraid to be honest with others on how I feel about things.
I finally admit that 9-5 is not a bad thing. It’s much better than faking being busy.
I finally have very specific goals and actually review them.
What I believed is now what I know. (You will have to read between the lines on this one.)
I am falling in love with what I (can) do. My skills.
My relationship with envy, jealously and judgement are tempered. What really matters is not material.
If I mess something up, I can fix it.
I have new things to work on personally.
Okay, there you go and I reserve the right to say I am human.
