NTU.org Ads About Rising Energy/Gasoline Prices: Fact or Fiction?
![]()
This multi-million dollar ad by NTU.org does not attempt to tell the truth about the reality of rising gasoline prices by any stretch of the imagination. They are preying on public fears and ignorance and certainly do not represent the future. High oil and gasoline prices are here to stay, folks. If, over the last decade, Exxon only found 95 barrels of oil for every 100 they produced, then that means consumption is outpacing supply and oil companies are going to make as much money as they can, while they can. Also, if US refinery capacity (what’s used to turn oil into gas) are at 85%, and we have not built a new one since 1977, how is it possible to instantly produce more gasoline to reduce current rising costs? It’s impossible and oil and gas companies really don’t mind; they are making huge profits at the moment.
While homes in southern Germany produce more power than they consume, and energy companies pay residents for excess power, we are seeing big oil propaganda like this in the United States. If we want an energy independent future for our kids, tax breaks for the oil companies is not going to get us there.
If you want to fund the future invest it in one of these companies rather than giving any money to NTU.org.
If you really want to change things, call your congressperson and tell them you want to nationalize big oil. It’s the only way to bring down prices in the short term.
