I just got this e-mail from a friend I do some civic stuff with.  It’s a great opportunity to let out some of that creative tension and maybe start the next big thing! I have something that I think you might be interested in participating in and was hoping you could pass on to your network via twitter etc. One thing that I am involved with civically is the planning of Startup Weekend Cleveland.  As you may know, Startup Weekend Cleveland is a 54 hour event to help launch a tech company. The goal of the weekend is to allow people with ideas for technology companies to meet up with a team of developers and business people to produce a business plan with a working prototype of the idea by 6:00 on Sunday. The winning team, as voted on by people all over the country, is awarded a $5,000 cash prize provided by Microsoft and a free space to start the business.  The event, which is scheduled for Nov 20-22, will take place at the Idea Center in Downtown Cleveland.
